Engineering Stores

The Stores hold a range of stationery and commonly used engineering items, fixings and materials. Before raising a requisition with an external supplier, please check the stores’ catalogue here, If the items are unavailable in the store, proceed here using EDRS.

Use EDRS

All requisitions and purchase orders in the Department must be created using the Engineering Department Requisition System (EDRS). This system provides direct access to the University’s supplier database and “Marketplace” and is the core system the department uses to manage all orders.

Marketplace

Marketplace should be your first choice for all common, low-value purchases. Marketplace provides a quick comparison from multiple suppliers and the ability to make purchases without needing a quotation. The maximum line-limit you can spend on the Marketplace at any one time is £25,000.

Non-Marketplace

Non-marketplace purchases are more formal and involve additional steps to ensure compliance with financial regulations and grant requirements. These require supporting documentation (1 quote under £5k and 3 competitive quotes or approved dispensation if over £5k) to show that due diligence has been undertaken and ensures proper audit trails for order processing, invoicing, and reporting.
